Although Maurice Bouman always felt that he would run his own business from a young age he never thought he would be making and selling custom jewelry. Maurice moved with his family to Canada from Holland at the age of 3. Born to entrepreneurial and adventurous parents, Maurice graduated from high school on Vancouver Island and worked various jobs before starting his own grounds maintenance and home watch companies. Still operating those businesses, he recently stumbled upon this craft as a winter hobby. After making his first ring for his wife she convinced him that with a little fine tuning that he had the talent and patience to create beautiful pieces of jewelry to sell. Maurice finds this new hobby to be grounding and therapeutic, as well as a great escape from the daily grind of life. Recently he has involved his daughters in some of the wire work for the earrings, making it a family affair.
